Passage: Luke 20:20-26
The trap was laid perfectly. The religious leaders of the day had Jesus cornered with a question. If this were a game of chess, they were about to say “checkmate.” If Jesus moved one direction, he was a traitor to the Jews. If he moved the opposite direction, he was a rebel to the Roman Empire. In either case, his answer would cost him his life and the headline would read,“Radical Rabbi Silenced.” What would Jesus say? What would Jesus do? What can we learn from his answer that made everyone sit up and take notice? Come and join me as we answer these questions and continue our investigation into the events that led to the most controversial week in history.
