Passage: Genesis 3:1-7

Lies Title Graphic - Sermon GraphicThe Bible calls him the Father of Lies. He tempts. He accuses. He condemns. He plants thoughts of discouragement and shame. He destroys. His name is Satan, and he lies.

His favorite tool is the half-truth, and nothing makes him happier than when we hear one of his lies and believe it. He sounds ominous, but the truth is that he has already been defeated and we don’t need to get trapped by his lies.

This weekend we start a brand new series called Lies. Our goal is to expose the lies of the enemy with the truth of Jesus. We are going to tell the truth about Jesus and in doing that, the truth will set us free. This week we tackle the first lie the devil ever told: God can’t be trusted (look at Genesis 3). The truth? God is the only one we can trust!
