DAY OF PRAYER letter
November 2025
Dayenu (It Would Have Been Enough)
Pastor Carrie Butler | CTK Network Prayer
Faithful Intercessors,
As we enter this new month, we turn toward gratitude. In Hebrew tradition, there is a joyful song called Dayenu that means “it would have been enough.” It’s a song of remembrance and thanksgiving, sung during Passover to recount the countless ways God has been faithful to His people. Each verse reflects on something God has done and declares, “If you had only done this - dayenu - it would have been enough.”
I love the Dayenu because it helps me reframe gratitude when my thoughts are anxious, the world seems to be spinning out of control, and I’m just… tired. This prayer song brings me back to center, keeping my eyes on God’s great love and faithfulness towards not just me in the here and now, but to all of His people throughout history.
The Dayenu also helps me really dig into what I am grateful for, looking past the “obvious” - a warm home, food in my fridge, loving friends and family - which are all wonderful things I praise God for. The Dayenu invites me to pause and reflect on what it is about those things I am grateful for. My warm home is a safe place to welcome others into. The food in my fridge is what I chose, not what was available to me. The loving friends and family aren’t just loving, but they love me enough to challenge ways of thinking and living that don’t align with God’s ways, helping me to become more like Jesus. These are incredible gifts.
As we pray this month, may we join this ancient song of remembering:
If all we had was God’s promise to be faithful, dayenu.
If all we had was His Word, dayenu.
If all we had was His mercy, new each morning, dayenu.
What is your Dayenu song? Before you begin praying today, take a few minutes to notice the small ways God reveals his abundance in the ordinary of your life, no matter what the circumstances may be. May our gratitude deepen our trust, and may our prayers come from hearts that remember: He has been enough, and He will be again.

With you in unity,
Carrie

CHRIST THE KING PRAYER GUIDE
-
What’s one thing you’re deeply grateful for as you go into this month — something where you’ve seen God’s movement, big or small — in your area of ministry?
CTK Staff (from Melonie Kemp, Executive Pastor)
Our staff are truly a blessing! It’s so easy to be thankful for each one of them. I’m constantly amazed by the people the Lord brings to be part of the CTK family. It’s clear that He is carefully weaving together a team to accomplish His work here in Whatcom County.
Every day, our staff serve with heart, faith, and dedication, bringing God’s love to life in both our church family and the wider community. Whether they’re caring for people directly or making ministry happen behind the scenes, they do it all with grace, joy, and a genuine love for the Lord.
They create spaces where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and loved—truly reflecting the heart of Christ in all they do. I’m grateful not just for their incredible skills and hard work, but for the passion, love, and creativity they pour into our church every single day. Their teamwork, faithfulness, and commitment make the ministry of CTK not only possible, but thriving.
Thank you for faithfully praying for our team!
Connections (from Angel Finsrud, Connections Pastor)
- What an incredible night at Cordata Trick or Treat! Around 1,800 people from our community came through to enjoy candy, smiles, and warm hospitality from our CTK family. It was a joy to see our church shine with welcome, laughter, and love—offering not just treats, but a true taste of Christ’s kindness. Praise God for the opportunity to bless our neighbors and build new connections in our community!
Worship & Creative (from Anna Claire Forney, Creative Coordinator)
- This probably won't come as a surprise, but watching the Holy Spirit at work within our own church body and the big “C” Church was so beautiful during One Church on Thursday, October 2. It was so special and something we won't forget for a really long time. Please see the link to all of the photos below. They tell the story of what God is up to so much better than we can. To God be the glory.
- We would also appreciate some prayer over our team right now. It's a busy time of year as we gear up for extra rehearsals and events, so please pray that we would allow the Holy Spirit to guide us and that God would protect us all through this busy season!
Adults (from Julie Burleson, Lead Adults Pastor)
- The Adults team has a lot to celebrate this fall. We see that God is moving and that he is helping to create biblical community in lots of ways. We are seeing Community Groups support each other as difficult life circumstances arise, take spiritual growth classes together, and serve the community. We are seeing God help some who were looking for biblical community find others to walk alongside, and we are so excited about it. We have new people connected all over the place and are all so amazed at what God is doing!
Young Adults (from Jake Hruza, Young Adults Pastor)
- Young Adults have been meeting in both large and small group settings, and it’s been amazing to see how naturally they’ve adjusted to the small groups. They’ve been engaging deeply and vulnerably in the homes of our mentors, and we’re so thankful for those mentors who have opened their homes and shared their space. The depth of relationships in our Young Adult Ministry has grown significantly because of this, and we’re deeply grateful.
UNITED / Students (from Josh Lease, Students Pastor)
- One thing I'm deeply grateful for is our volunteer team. We have an amazing team of 23 volunteers regularly committing themselves to serving students. They go to their games, pray for their students, they have mid week community groups, and show up every week at MSU or HSU. We ask a lot of them and this is the best team we've had since I've been around. God is working through them and I'm deeply grateful for their faithfulness.
Kids & Family (from Duane Weaver, Children’s Pastor)
- The CTK Kids team is so thankful for our wonderful volunteers who use their gifts and talents to serve the children each week. The children who come to our classes are seen and heard by the volunteers; they are the hands and feet of Jesus.
- As the holiday season approaches, we would love to see new volunteers join our team so we can continue to have space for each child who comes each week. There is a special need for volunteers who can help those children who require extra support to have a great experience in our classrooms.
Prayer (from Carrie Butler, Prayer Pastor)
- First, I am deeply grateful for the Ministry Prayer Team volunteers who show up week in and week out to pray for people after each service. They are present, listen to the Spirit, and encourage those who need hope. I am also deeply grateful for the Community Group leaders in our church family who are leading their groups in prayer, asking great questions, exploring what prayer is, and growing in their understanding and experience of prayer.
Blessing (from Nathan Ford, Outreach Team Director)
- For both the Farm and Response Teams, we are deeply grateful for all the people who said “yes” to helping make the work happen this year. Each volunteer brought their humble hearts and willing hands to get dirty and sweaty with us, whether out in the fields or with our community partners. Ephesians 3 comes to mind, where we are getting to witness a taste of God doing immeasurably more than we could plan for or imagine.
Global Missions (from Pastor Grant Fishbook)
- We’re grateful for Tommy and Claudia Manay who have stepped into leadership as CTK’s new Global Director couple. From the frontlines of international ministry, they will help us make our partners around the world seen, known, and loved. We are thankful for this new season of global connection and Kingdom impact.
