The Bi-Annual Employee Review is a reflective conversation, not a performance evaluation. Its purpose is to look back on the previous year, name what was life-giving, what was challenging, and identify how the coming year can be approached with clarity, growth, and support.
This review is designed to be honest, informative, and relational—supporting ongoing development rather than assigning ratings or scores.
Purpose and Process:
- Reflect on the previous year (or timeframe designated)
- Celebrate what worked well
- Name areas of struggle and growth
- Identify how the employee and supervisor can best support each other moving forward
Employee
- Complete the Employee Review Form prior to the scheduled meeting
- Answer the reflection questions thoughtfully and honestly
- Submit the form by the requested deadline
- Review both forms in advance of the conversation
Supervisor
- Complete the Supervisor Review Form prior to the meeting
- Review both forms in advance of the conversation
- Come prepared to affirm, listen, and discern support needs
Both the employee and supervisor will receive copies of the completed forms once submitted. Copies will also be scanned into the employee’s digital files by HR.
After the Review
- The review may inform future goals, development opportunities, or specific follow-up.
- No formal ratings or disciplinary actions result from this review.
- Ongoing support and communication should occur throughout the year as a part of your work rhythms and 1:1 meetings.
