This Easter weekend, Christ the King Church is going to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. We are going to proclaim his greatest headline ever: HE IS ALIVE!
The people of Jerusalem were excited! Everything was about to change because a king had come to deliver them. Rome would be overthrown and all of their hopes would be realized. They lined the streets shouting, “Hosanna – God Save Us!” But a few days later, with that same king under arrest and facing execution, the people of Israel were in a place that many of us find ourselves – disappointed.
The trap was laid perfectly. The religious leaders of the day had Jesus cornered with a question. What would Jesus say? What would Jesus do? What can we learn from his answer that made everyone sit up and take notice?
This week we start our Easter series, Headlines, with a look at the radical teachings of the one who prompted the headlines – and changed the world.
