A myth is a widely held but false belief or idea, or a misrepresentation of the truth. Our modern world is packed with myths about relationships, and this weekend I’m going to blow the lid off of five of the most damaging relationship myths and give you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God!

The world of relationships is all-encompassing. Each of us lives in a complex world of friendships, business relationships, dating, marriages, parenting, being single, in-laws, co-workers, bosses, college buddies, and social networking. If we were honest, I think we could all admit that our relational worlds need a little work.

This Easter weekend, Christ the King Church is going to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. We are going to proclaim his greatest headline ever: HE IS ALIVE!
The people of Jerusalem were excited! Everything was about to change because a king had come to deliver them. Rome would be overthrown and all of their hopes would be realized. They lined the streets shouting, “Hosanna – God Save Us!” But a few days later, with that same king under arrest and facing execution, the people of Israel were in a place that many of us find ourselves – disappointed.
The trap was laid perfectly. The religious leaders of the day had Jesus cornered with a question. What would Jesus say? What would Jesus do? What can we learn from his answer that made everyone sit up and take notice?
