Days for Girls
What if not having sanitary supplies meant days without school, days without income, days without leaving the house? Girls use leaves, mattress stuffing, newspaper, corn husks, rocks, anything they can find...but still miss up to 2 months of school every year. It turns out this issue is a surprising but instrumental key to social change for women all over the world. The poverty cycle can be broken when girls stay in school.
What is Days for Girls?
Every girl in the world deserves education, safety, and dignity. They help girls gain access to quality sustainable feminine hygiene and awareness by directly distributing sustainable feminine hygiene kits.
The women of CTK are coming together, for just 4 Tuesday mornings, to make these feminine hygiene kits. Our goal is to deliver these kits during our many mission trips throughout the year. We have plenty of ways to help so if this is something that tugs at your heart, please come serve with us, even if you don't sew!
Donations are always needed!
If you can't make it but still want to help, feel free to donate thin, colorful washcloths, Fruit of Loom panties (sizes 12–16 and no white), and new fabric (100% keepsake calico cotton and super snuggle flannel). Please do not donate anything sports themed or anything that includes creatures with eyes. Simply leave your donation at the reception desk. Thank you.
